My beautiful Mum was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes later in life, despite leading an active life and taking care of her health. She raised funds for Diabetes UK by hosting events where friends could come and play bridge and enjoy homemade soup and sandwiches. The pandemic made things difficult for her and she suffered a stroke and eventually was diagnosed with dementia. She never complained and remained positive, always smiling and bringing joy to her family.
